How it works

Three steps, all on your device. No installation, no sign-up.

Export your chat
WhatsApp: open the chat → Export chat → Without media. Telegram Desktop: chat → Export chat history → JSON. You get a small text file.
Step 2
Drop it into ChatProof
The file is parsed in your browser: every message gets a continuous number and timestamp, participants and dates are laid out for review.
Step 3
Save the PDF
One click opens the print dialog. Cover page, contents by date, numbered transcript, and the file's SHA-256 hash on every page.

Why not just screenshots?

Screenshots are the first thing opposing counsel attacks — they are trivially cropped, reordered or fabricated. A transcript built from the raw export answers those attacks before they are made.

Your chat never leaves this device

That is not a promise buried in a privacy policy — it is how the code works. The file is read by your browser, parsed by your browser, hashed by your browser and printed by your browser. There is no upload endpoint to send it to.

No server, no account

Parsing and PDF generation are 100% client-side. Close the tab and nothing remains.

SHA-256 integrity

The source file's cryptographic fingerprint is computed locally and stamped on every page.

Verifiable by anyone

Whoever holds the same export can recompute the hash and confirm the transcript's source is unaltered.

$ shasum -a 256 _chat.txt — run this on your copy of the export and compare it with the hash printed on the transcript. If they match, the source is byte-for-byte identical.
